The New Tera CRD60R axle has been engineered and designed to
maximize protection, performance and durability. It features
high-clearance for the trail, reinforced bearing caps, extra
oil capacity and a custom mounting pad on top for three or
four-link suspensions or torque control struts.
Stock High Pinion Dana 60 axles that are used in rear
application, getting oil to the pinion bearings has always
been a problem. When in motion, oil from the ring gear
creates a halo effect and does not fling the oil to the
pinion bearings until higher speeds are reached.
The CRD60R does not have this problem, it has a built in
"skimmer" that removes this halo effect and forces oil up to
the pinion bearings. Also, the front pinion bearing is
larger than any axle on the market today, this feature helps
the pinion carry the heavy loads placed on it.
