Here at our shop back in 1996 Sam & Mike came up with
the anti-spring rap traction bar. The idea came about when we noticed spring
wrap a curing on spring over conversions that we installed. If your running
a spring over this is the solution to your axle wrap problems. Guaranteed!
Welding and fabrication skills needed to install this kit. Good chance
you'll need to reroute Exhaust. Your welcome to give us a call with

Kit Includes: 30" Heavy Duty Traction Bar that's 1.5" OD tubing and wall
thickness is 3/8- Poly Bushings Large Currie Johnny Joint - Shackle- Shackle
Mount - Greasable Bolts - Axle Housing Mounts NOTE: If room permits we like
installing the traction bar on the driver side. Eliminates fighting motor
torque.
Most of the time you can use your existing skid plate/ cross member to
attach the shackle mount. If your rig has a long wheel base like CJ8 or Toyota pickup then check out
our cross member.
Cross Member for the Traction Bar
The Sams Offroad Crossmember is designed to
provide a sturdy mounting point for the Sams Offroad Traction Bar.
Manufactured from 1-3/4" x .120" wall mandrel formed steel tubing,
this crossmember is capable of withstanding the abuse of rock
crawling while also adding strength to the chassis.
The 54" wide bar serves double duty as both a locating device for
the Traction Bar as well as a rear driveshaft loop. Each kit
includes 3/16" stamped steel brackets with 360í thru-mounting holes
for increased strength. Includes mounting hardware. Welding and
drilling required.
We understand that not everyone needs our Heavy Duty Traction Bar,
so
we came up with this lighter duty model.
Regularly 249.95
Raw Finish Only - Not
Painted
NOTE:
Welding and fabrication skills needed. On this model we use 1 inch diameter DOM tubing, thickness is 0.156 of a
inch, length, 30 inches. The front of the traction bar has a Johnny
Joint mounted on a shackle, then the shackle attaches to the transfer
case cross member or you can use our custom Sam's Offroad Cross Member.
The rear mounts are polyurethane with greasable bolts. The top mount is
adjustable and the bottom mount is fixed. Rear axle mounting brackets
are included and must be welded on.
One other thing to remember, depending on how your exhaust is run. You
might have to modify it to clear the traction bar.
We recommend this traction bar for light duty applications. An example
would be a rig that has 33 inch tires running a spring over powered by a
stock 6 cylinder motor. Anything more and you will need the Sam's
Offroad Heavy Duty traction bar.
(We do offer custom lengths if 33 inches won't work for your
application, please call for price). For more information on this or
other specialty items we recommend, call us at 800-446-5503 or
